Data types

The 48 types of personal data that the Check API can find, with their groups and mask labels.

The Check API looks only for the data types that are on in your workspace. A request cannot choose the types. An Owner turns types on or off on the Settings page, in the Detection section. The choice applies to every API key of the workspace.

A new workspace has 7 types on. The last column of the table marks them.

Groups

Each type belongs to one group. The groups follow Vietnam's Decree 356/2025.

BASIC is basic personal data, as in Article 3 of the decree.
SENSITIVE is sensitive personal data, as in Article 4 of the decree.

Today the Japan region uses the same 48 types and the same groups.

Mask labels

maskedText replaces each finding with the mask label of its type. For example, 0912 345 678 becomes [PHONE].
